What is hirschberg testi?

The Hirschberg test is a quick and simple screening test used to detect strabismus (misalignment of the eyes). The test involves shining a light into both eyes and observing the position of the reflected light on the cornea (the clear front part of the eye).

If the eyes are properly aligned, the light reflection will appear in the same spot on both corneas. However, if there is a misalignment, the reflected light will appear in different spots on each cornea.

The Hirschberg test is a non-invasive and inexpensive way to determine the presence of strabismus, and it can be easily performed by healthcare professionals without requiring any special equipment. However, it is considered a screening test and not a diagnostic test, so further evaluation may be necessary if the test is positive for strabismus.
